Commission invoices
Every sale a manufacturer invoices earns you a commission. Enter the invoice here and the rate and splits fill themselves in.
How do I enter a commission invoice and split it between reps?
- Press New. Pick the rep, and type the invoice number exactly as it is on the manufacturer's paperwork, plus the customer's PO.
- Add the lines. Picking a part fills in the price, and the rate fills itself in — with the reason it was chosen.
- Check who gets the commission. The customer's rep starts at 100%; share it with anyone who helped, and the rest fills in for you.
- Save. The invoice shows the sale and the commission, not paid yet.
Good to know
- Both split columns (credit and commission) must add up to 100%.
- Most agencies load invoices with Import instead of typing them — see Import a commission file.

Every sale a manufacturer invoices earns us a commission. This is where those invoices go in. Each row is one manufacturer's invoice, with the sale and the commission it earned. Bremer Safety just sent a copy of an invoice for Great Lakes Fastener.
Let's enter it. Pick the rep who covers the account. Sara Park sells to Great Lakes. Type the invoice number exactly as it is on Bremer's paperwork, and the customer's PO.
Now the lines. Pick a part and the price comes from your product list. The rate filled itself in: 6 percent, and it tells you why — Bremer pays more on this product. The second part has no special rate, so it uses the rate Bremer pays on Great Lakes: 4.75 percent.
The totals at the bottom add up as you type — sale and commission. Who gets this? Great Lakes is set up to pay Sara, so she already has 100 percent. Tom Novak helped on this order.
Give Sara 75 percent of the commission... ...then share with Tom. The rest, 25 percent, is filled in for you. The sales credit stays with Sara. Each person's dollar share shows right there, and both columns add up to 100 percent.
Save the invoice. Search for the invoice number to find it in the list. There it is: $5,076 of sales earning $283.86 of commission, not paid yet. When Bremer's check arrives, you match it to this invoice on the Payments screen.
