Deals and the sales pipeline
Deals are business you are chasing but have not won yet. Each stage has odds, so the pipeline total is a commission number you can plan on.
How do I track deals and forecast commission from my pipeline?
- Press New, pick the customer and the manufacturer whose product it is.
- Enter what the order should sell for over its first year. Leave the rate empty — it comes from your agreement with that line.
- Pick the stage (for example Quoted) and the month you expect the order. Save.
- When things move, change the stage right in the list — no need to open the deal.
Good to know
- The pipeline total at the top and the monthly forecast below move as soon as you change a stage.

Deals are the things you are chasing but have not sold yet. They tell you what commission is coming. At the top: what is in the pipe, split by stage. Each stage has odds.
Your commission is multiplied by them, so the total is a number you can plan on. Let's add the Toledo weld cell job we quoted this morning. Pick the customer and the manufacturer whose product it is. What the order should sell for over its first year.
Leave your rate empty. We look it up from your agreement with Eastline. It is quoted, so pick Quoted. That stage counts it at 40 percent.
When do you expect the order? That places it in the monthly forecast. Save it. Here it is, with the commission it is worth and what it counts for today.
The Quoted stage and the pipe total both went up. Two weeks later, the samples worked and the buyer is getting a PO cut. Move the deal along. Change the stage right in the list.
No need to open anything. Waiting on the PO counts at 85 percent, so this deal now weighs more than twice as much. The pipe total climbs, and the money moves from Quoted to Waiting on the PO. Below it, the forecast shows November growing, because that is when you expect the order.
